This presentation reviews the issue of natural gas flaring on a global/ macro-level, before exploring the technical reasons why flaring occurs. Next, the presentation explores the state level regulations in Texas and New Mexico that govern an operator's ability to flare natural gas. Finally, the presentation explores how regulatory pressures to end/limit flaring have led to increased opportunities for the use of natural gas to power crypto-currency mining operations.
