Speakers for this event include:
David Ramsden-Wood of DRW Hot Take Nation. The DRW Hot Take of the Day blog discusses current events surrounding natural gas markets, global trade and world demand during the current pandemic. Guest speaker Rob McBride — proven energy industry team leader, manager, strategist and analyst of physical energy assets with 10-plus years of profitable results — discusses the current financial state of the oil and gas industry and possibilities for the future.
Phillip A. Guerra, CPL has created a video for AAPL members titled Oil & Gas vs. Solar — a land overview. Guerra has worked as a field landman and is the East Coast Land Acquisition Manager for a solar development company called Forefront Power currently working in seven states on the East Coast. He plans to share his knowledge outlining many aspects of the solar industry, which includes everything from basic electrical grid terms to identifying ideal locations for solar fields and the similarities and differences a land professional may see while moving between these two industries.
The Field Landman Committee will present a video about the blowout and rig fire of the Pryor Trust Gas Well in Pittsburgh County, Oklahoma, that took the lives of five workers. This video gives a very good depiction of why the blowout occurred and what may have been done to prevent it. The video contains a wealth of knowledge when it comes to drilling, geology and engineering.
Steptoe & Johnson, LLP Attorney Andrew Graham will present a video titled Ethical Considerations for In-House Oil and Gas Lawyers and Land Professionals. His approach to breaking down the ethical rules promulgated by the governing authorities for lawyers, landmen and both the NADOA and NALTA provides a broad array of ethical considerations for each member. Although this video is titled “in-house” and frequently refers to lawyers, the Field Landman Committee found it informative as to ethical behaviors and patterns for landmen working in all capacities.
The Field Landman Committee has included a handful of additional short videos for your entertainment pleasure, some that you may get a chuckle from and others that truly have a wow factor. You also will get to meet several members of the Field Landman Committee who have poured their hearts into making this webinar happen. Please join us for an afternoon of well-rounded landman education and a webinar that intends to set a new bar for topics and content during the difficult times we are all experiencing. Stay home, stay safe and tune in!
