This webinar will focus on several of the types of disputes and potential litigation that may arise under a JOA given the current market conditions of low oil prices and COVID-19. Among the issues to be discussed includes an analysis of the circumstances governing removal of the operator, including concerns of whether the operator is solvent and strategies for working with an operator that has filed for bankruptcy. The webinar will address steps an operator may take to protect its interest and perfect any potential liens. Additionally, the webinar will also address potential issues involving non-operators under a JOA, including the rights of a non-operator and potential liability. In asserting a claim under a JOA, the webinar will address the types of relief available, including injunctive relief. Finally, the webinar will address the issues and potential liability relating to assignments of interests in a JOA.
