Workout, Workover & DoOver?
Friday, April 21, 2017
Seminar Summary
In Session 5 we will look at distressed companies and projects, and explore what happens as a project goes increasingly “underwater.” This will include bank debt, lender liability, restructurings, revaluations, workouts and forms of alternative dispute resolution aimed and preserving as much value as possible and getting the assets back into a productive stance. We will look at the use of receiverships, both for operators and non-operated interests, and how that affects the oil and gas unit. We will then extend into Bankruptcy, whether of the operator, a non-operator, a creditor, royalty owner, service provider, or product purchaser, and explore the effects that such events have on the operations of a well, a company, and the other financial relationships in the business, including lease maintenance, midstream contracts, and royalty owners.
