It will give an overview of the land management practices for the hard rock mining industry, focusing on mining claims, agreements, due diligence, royalties, water rights, and federal land use in the United States. The presentation will also give a brief history of the General Mining Law of 1872, the governing statutes around the hard rock mining industry and the current status of legislative proposals to change the rules that govern the mining industry.
